EasyBib Offers Automatic Bibliography Formatting

EasyBib does for bibliography formatting what the calculator did for mathematics.

Adults are said to be constantly bemoaning how easy life is for today's youth. Even though it wasn't that long ago that I was a youth myself, I have recently joined the ranks of jealous, ornery grown-ups. Because now, there is automatic bibliography formatting.

One of the most painful and anti-climactic things about finishing an academic paper is then having to compile a "works cited" page or bibliography. After hours spent force-feeding yourself tasteless Ramen and click-clacking away at a computer screen, the absolute last thing you want to do is pull out your MLA or APA manual and suffer through the lengthy process of formatting a bibliography.

Lucky for today's students, scholars, and academics, they can skip that entire process and point their browsers to http://www.easybib.com.

The tool provides both MLA and APA formatting options, and users simply enter the relevant information for each citation into the correct fields. EasyBib then automatically formats the citation for the user.

There is also a cheap, more professional and features-packed version of the software called EasyBib Pro. It costs $8 a year and is popular among the college-aged set. It includes a parenthetical citation wizard for inline citations, an easy way to import citations from online scholarly journals, and the ability to store and save multiple bibliographies at a time. One of the best features, arguably, is InstaCite, which takes most of the work out of the process. With a database of more than 18 million works, InstaCite asks for the title of the work and will then search the database for the rest of the information needed for your citation.

I'm speechless. Oh, wait... I do have something to say about all this:

Man, kids today don't know how easy they have it!

Wow, thanks to the prehistoric ideology that made getting an education so difficult, we as students need all the help we can get. Go cry about something worth crying about. Use your education to do something of use instead of holding up progress.
